Ain't It Just Typical

I think I may have inadvertently knelt on his leg a couple of times.

Seeing as he was laying under the bike in a puddle of petrol maybe I should have been a nice guy and offered him a smoke to ease his stress. ;)

shame you didnt offer him a smoke, but glad you got him pinned anyway!

Really never is a dull moment in your neck of the woods!

I dont suppose you have heard anything positive from the insurers in the last 24 hours then?

My area is very busy and not a little rough.

Never a dull day here.

Anyway some good news, the car is ready, but annoyingly they were going to drop it back today except I was unavailable.

Options are I drive 50 miles in my courtesy pram tomorrow to collect it or wait until Tuesday when they're next open.

Take a guess at what I'm going to do?

16 days off the road and 11 days in dry dock.

Don't care what classification it is as long as it looks and drives as before.

!Removed! hell didn't think it seemed that long.

I know mate just wondered if it had effected the classification much if any?

It wasn't written off so work is classed as repair only.

Ah nice one. Wasn't sure how it works. So it has to have been written off to be a cat d or c etc. How much you reckon it will have all cost the bikers insurer?

When you gonna help me change me light bulb?

I reckon the repairs would have cost about £1500 what with a new wing, respray, drop links, track rods and ends, steering rack, axle and bushes. (including labour too).

When I've spoken to the insurance company again I'll let you know if I'm able to do your very tricky bulb for you.

Would it have just been the damaged/new parts resprayed or a full respray mate?

I wish it was a full job, but that would be about £2000.

It will just be the wing and sill.

Thoughtso, was gonna say what !Removed! bodyshop did it so they can do mine lol cause 1500 is !Removed! cheap for a spray and repairs.

Mine needs a full respray but at 2 grand its 2 thirds what i paid for it in the first place so bugger that.

I am now officially a happy camper.

Car back today and looking good.

It was a 35 mile trip to collect it but strangely 100 miles coming back ;)

Plymouth to Bodmin through horrendous driving rain laughing at the caravans coming the other way and then home via the A30 to Exeter and back down the A38 to home.

I was pretty spot on with my guesstimate, I reckoned £1500 and it was just over that.

I can confirm its going like a champ.

They even gave it a polish but the !Removed! rain ruined that.

Glad to hear it stoney, hopefully all will start improving for you now, as long as no problems derive from the work, and hopefully they didnt miss anything either! but welcome back to the happyland! as for the biker, well, perhaps a home visit is in order? as a very concerned officer of the law, I am sure that you would want to make sure he is safe and well?

I'll see what happens with my insurance before I make sure he's safe.
