so.... after talking to preee, I received the vinyl wrap on thursday and finally plucked up the courage to follow the guidance and managed to wrap the front fascia..... so, after many annoying moments and one headache later this is the end result :) also ordered ELM from preee so will be doing that when it arrives, just waiting on the climate control knobs now, anyway here's how it looks.

I did NOT find it easy haha I had a look at your pics with the vinyl wrapped around the start button and gear box, to be honest I wanna keep the chrome look as I'm getting some door sills etc and think it would "match" better, but again this is just personal preference, however you were completely right with only doing the front fascia and not carrying it on all the way down :D but yes I am very pleased with it, and thanks for all your help!!! hairdryer is going away for a while now lol

gonna go bug lenny for advice with the cc knobs when they come haha :D

Haha ,I'm sure Lenny will help you :)

The main thing is "You did it" all by yourself and the main point of the Forums is to get that knowledge and help people.

So no need to thank me just enjoy the satisfaction you started to modify you Focus :)

Looks fantastic, drooling.gif Ow and you made a great job of the wrapping too bravo.gif

slight observation with your white cable coming from the glove box,

if you open the glovebox and unplug the cable, then feed it up through the gap in the bottom centre of the glovebox door when open.

then when you close the glovebox the cable will come througg the bottom of the glovebox door with out any restriction and looks slightly better too.

lol thank you lenny :) yeah that's just the aux cable, it's just temporary untill I take preee's advice to take it to ford and have the stereo upgraded to play my ipod through the bluetooth, I assumed if I could talk through it I could play music, this wasn't the case, generally the cable is kept in the glove box anyway but I had my younger brother wanting to "play DJ" earlier. <_<

looking good mate... i ordered like a 2-3 meter aux cable and have run mine from the glove box to the center storage compartment, personally think it looks 100 times better... as for the wrapping i think it looks ace, only im not too sure on the contrast between the carbon and the silver, all or nothing in my opinion :D

I don't need balls for that, your offer to do it for me still stands! :P

Although the likelihood of my mouth getting taped up with your leftover vinyl has probably gone up considerably now... :'( haha ;)

hey thanks alkyz yeah I want to run the cable through not 100% sure how to do it so might go check it out in a bit, I was debating the contrast but I think where the dash is black it kinda divides it nicely, but like i said to preee its all about what people prefer, to be honest its not that noticeable.

ive just spotted the AC part next to the blue section on your climate control dial,

what soes it say above the AC and i dont have that on mine eventhough i have AC and heated windscreen ?

it says 'max ac' on my mk 3 too, switches the ac on as soon as your turn the dial there

kind of annoying when you dont want it on! it switches back on automatically some time afterwards too so you're constantly turning it off! <_<

Something called 'Folding rear seats' my dear....Bit difficult when wrists and mouth are taped up with carbon wrap from yours truly.

Im climbing back into the boot if theres a 'Plan B'

*folds rear seats back up*

Besides - havent i just saved you from running out?!

well yeah... but I wanted to be helpful for once! hahaha

yeah, you climb back into your boot and think about how we should "think before we speak" and "if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say it" ..... or you'll be sleeping with the fishes :P :o

What method worked for yourself with the circles? Did you use a hairdryer?

ive used 2 techniques so far for the circles and thats when youve applied the film heat slightly the circles and run youre finger round the edge giving you a clear outline then use a craft knife to cut these out or cut the inside of the circles like a pie then fold over

yeah, preee said to heat the circles with my trusty hairdryer then i just used my fingers to press into the hole to dent it while it was cooling, after its stretched I just cut it out, don't get me wrong the back of the fascia looks TERRIBLE haha but you can't see it and I was actually admiring my handy work on the drive back from work a minute ago, it looks really decent and I'd recommend it to anyone :D

youve done a good job there and thats one of the more difficult parts so anything else will be easier. the trick is where to cut and fold for example the hazard bit at the top its easier to make lots of little cuts all the way round then fold but its trial and error.

i have to say dont go all carbon keep a mix of the silver and carbon too much spoils it in my opinion

hey, thank you :D yeah it was tricky, nearly gave up at one point but now it's done and looks good, clean finish etc I'm pleased with it, I won't be adding any more carbon to the car, like you said and I agree, it looks better with a mix :D
