Hi guys just purchased a 1.6 petrol zetec s 06 plate. I have noticed when I give it the boot around 2000 rpm I hear a strange sort of hissy squeak from the engine just for a split moment almost like turbo pressure release or something??? No

Noise if i dont accelerate hard tho A friend says it's engine characteristics with the air pushing through the vains.? Any suggestions? Thanks

The intake does when you press the accelerator. It does sound like a dump valve releasing.

I recon you should check your air intake hoses, sounds like you hvae a split on a rubber hose that might need replacing...

All petrol 16v Ford's I've heard seem to have a certain "woosh" sound on mild acceleration, sounds like throttle bodies opening and sucking air in, I'd say it's nothing to worry about.
