JFY
Hi Can anyone help me please, i am looking to buy a focus 1.6TDCi Titanium on an 08 plate and was wondering if they have bluetooth connectivity and USB connection as standard. Is there anything i should look out for when inspecting the car, they seem pretty solid and reliable to me. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks, Jamie
Preee
I don't think they have bluetooth and USB in a 2008 , check to see if it has "voice" , if it does then it should have bluetooth , if it has a USB then it will be in the centre armrest or the glovebox. Look at service record on a diesel , and ask if it has a DPF and if so was the eloys topped up at 35,000.

Thanks, Jamie Hi Jamie welcome to the forum, A common fault on all mk2 and mk2.5 models is the hose for the rear window washer jet, it forms an elbow shape when the boot door is closed and rubs off the body stripping the paint, see the link entitled is your focus rusting its in the list below my posts,, I have a 1.6TDCi purchased in septrmber 2010 and now has 52,000miles on the clock heading for its fourth service and no troubles to date. However I am planning a dpf removal in the next 9 months to ensure I won't be spending any money on replacing one in the future or topping it up at services
JFY
Thanks for the advise guys, i hope to view the car sometime this week. Lenny you say your going to remove the dpf, will this have any effect on performance or fuel economy or is it purely to reduce emissons ? Lenny you say your going to remove the dpf, will this have any effect on performance or fuel economy or is it purely to reduce emissons ? Jamie Hi, It will save the car on fuel because it won't be washing the dpf filter every now and then, so the car will be slightly more efficent, the removal will also reduice pressure on the turbo leaving the car a little more responsive and a lot less restricted, The case of the dpf must remain in place to pass a visual inspection for mot, so the dpf removal is to cut open the dpf and remove the filter then weld it back togeather and refit to the car, Finally a remap of the engine so as it doesn't. Smoke and passes on emissions overall cost around 350-450 pounds but a new dpf and fluid is around the same if not more
artscot79
theres a few common issues even on 08 make sure theres plastic sill protectors to prevent rust and paint being taken off by rain and grit check the aircon and electrics work make sure the front footwells are dry lift the carpet in the boot and make sure theres no water in the wheel well ensure the cars been serviced and had its paint inspection stamps that the remote key works and theres 2keys and unless you do the miles forget a diesel if you do less than 15k miles a year

JFY
Hi Andy Do you know how many miles you are getting from a full tank. Im just curious what the actual difference is between the 1.6 petrol and diesel. I will get a picture up once i get one. Jamie
JFY
Well im going to pick up my car tomorrow, i decided on a 2009 1.6 petrol Titanium in black. It has done 20600 miles and i got it for £8000. Is this a reasonable price or do you think i should knock it down some more. Jamie
