paul05
Hi currently have problem with my windscreen wipers on my ford focus 1.6 zetec 05 ,when driving wipers just stopped working, have checked motor this is ok,checked wiper stalk ok you can hear a clicking sound so must be sending signal(rear wipe and washers are working fine) fuse ok,not 100% on relays but only two in fuse box in car and swapped these two but still not working, anybody got any ideas ? cheers Paul Quote MultiQuote Edit
jeebowhite
I suspect, even though you are hearing a click, you are not triggering the actual microswitch correctly. I had this recently on my car, and I had the stalk replaced, as this also replaced the microprocessor. Depending on your budget you could either buy the stalk from ford and have them fit it, self fit it, or take a chance by popping to a scrappie and getting one from a shunt / write off. jeebowhite
I would take your car to a different dealer, its concerning that such a small problem is that cost! I cant say I agree immediately!!!

tommy1340millar
Hi Tommy had new gem/fuse fitted and programmed but kept blowing fuse, local garage stripped motor down cleaned etc now working ok for now, but interested to see where water ingress was situated just back on here after pc probs. Water ingress on mine was evident on a couple of pins on the largest connector. tbh, didn't look much, but the mechanics and the sparky seemed to know right away. Ingress through wiring loom by capillary action.
artscot79
ford were meant to fit a revised panel to prevent water ingress to the wiper motor maybe you should call ford up and have it done it was recall work cant remenber the tsb number http://www.warrantyguide.co.uk/vehicle-recall-EF182BEFEFA48C3E802570360044A568-ford-focus-and-focus-c-max-recall

Bern Williams
Hi, I have exactly the same problem , have checked fuses, relays and fitted another switch, everything else works, I do notice what sounds like a solenoid click from somewhere behind radio when I turn key in ignition. Could it be a problem with ECU, I replaced this wit a rebuild about 6 months ago ( 2000miles) Desperate for answer!!!!!
Jill davis
Hi I’m having problems with my 2005 focus the stereo comes on when the car is turned off and locked it does it all the time and my wipes don’t work then all of a sudden they will come on then stop I’ve replaced the motor and arms but there still not working I had to put a new battery on a few weeks ago I have to disconnect my battery over night so the stereo doesn’t keep waking us up thanks
isetta
I am wondering if you have water and damp in the fuse box above the front passengers feet. Fuse box has tons of fuses and relays and cable plugs on it. I have heard of water getting in these. You can unplug it all and take it apart to see the circuit board inside which has computer chips etc on it. I’m basing what i say on a 2008 mk2.5 but I thinks yours would be much the same. isetta
More: focus mk2 is quite advanced for its age in respect of certain stuff being ‘computer’ controlled using ms-canbus and hs-canbus. Having had a load of problems with one of these cars, the more you look into the electrics , you will find it’s more complicated than you’d think
Philopean
I'm having the same problem. Rear wiper and front and rear washers work fine, but front wipers not budging. Checked fuse and that's fine. Unsure what to do now as my mechanical knowledge is poor. Was hoping to fix myself but looks like I'm off to the garage.
Wipers stopped working
Hi I've just come across the same problem and after spending days trawling the internet I stumbled on a website/video "Ask the Mechanic" they have their own website with loads of info. After researching and contacting them, my problem is the linking arm to the wiper arm had worn and dropped. They sell parts that can be easily fit by yourself with video instructions. Mine is a ford focus mk2 and the part cost £5.49 free postage. Hope this helps all who are struggling to resolve their issues. Not bad for a female novice eh 🙈
