Sheffieldlad
Hi I have just purchased a mk7 fiesta unfortunatley it only came with one key. I have been told to try to buy a key (its a flat lade style) on the internet then have it cut at a local locksmith. They have then advised me to go to Ford to have it programmed up. Can anyone advise if this information I have been give is correct please? Also anyone know where I can purchase a new key on the internet please? Do I need to but one with all the electronics in? Thanks Guys
Stoney871
eBay item 180958057530 Call local auto locksmiths for quotes to cut and code. Don't go to ford unless you're desperate as they will rob you.
Sheffieldlad
Thanks stoney. Only trouble is my key is the round three button type with straight blade. The one on the link is the same blade but different plastic case and is square. Do you know if this will matter? Cheers
Stoney871
I'm pretty sure the key is compatible, give them a shout and they will advise you. The key is just a more up to date flip key and definitely can replace the older style 3 button remotes. I added a flip key as a spare so if i was to lose it then i would still have the original two keys.
