Escort rumble, whine opinions please

I need your opinions please.

I have a whine/rumble noise from the front, quite loud, it starts from about 30mph and stays all the time from then on, in any gear, no change if you put the clutch in, same noise going round corners.

Wondered if its the front wheel bearings? Or the gearbox?

Could be the wheel bearings.

Does it "knock"?

If so it could be the driveshafts also.

There are no knocks or noises when on full lock when parking

NS front wheel bearing, changed and now all wonderful

Think someone on www.fordescortclub.co.uk had the same problem a while ago
