Peange
Hi all, I've posted about this before but never did get an answer. Today I drove only a few miles from work to the shops, not really enough time for the engine to warm. When I got back in my car, the radiator fan kicks in full blast and stays on for the small journey home. It has continued to run for the past half hour, until I went out and switched on the electrics. The car is now quiet and everything is off. It's not a regen as I don't have a dpf ('08 plate) so I'm clueless! Only other thing I have read is possibly the thermostatic switch is stuck "open". Ideas? Peange
I should say that the fan ran for a half hour with the engine off.
jimrex
Has it only done this today? My Focus did it a few weeks ago, I got home from work and the fan was just going mad, probably for about half an hour like yours... I kept my eye on it that night but it's not done it since so there's no issue. If it happens again to you, then I would think something is wrong. Peange
It has happened before, but so long ago I'd forgotten about it. When it used to happen before the fan would only stay on for a minute or so. Yours will have a dpf so is probably just going through a regen cycle, you've got nothing to worry about (lucky you!)
