libs12
Hello everyone, Im new to this and have a few issues with my focus style 2008 1.6 tdci. Basically my dpf needs replacing along with my epg, but ive only done 75k, is this normal? Also is it illegal to have my dpf bypassed as replacing it along with my epg is going to cost a huge amount of money like £1200-1300, thats not including vat! Does anyone have any advice on what to do? Thankyou

salsheikh
From a mag article i read, VOSA say it doesnt matter if the dpf is removed come mot time as they do a smoke test so i say get it removed and mapped to remove the light. this will be much cheaper than a dpf replacement. look online for companies that know how to do this and dont trust any old garage, it has to be a trusted mapper. libs12
Brilliant thanks for the advice gurcayy and sal! my local garage has said they can get the parts for half the price the ford garage qouted and the labour will be a lot cheaper so thinking of getting it replaced! just one more question, does anyone know how long exactly the dpf is meant to last on my model car? Howard1471
Had my DPF removed 12 months+ ago. The [Ford] DPF is expected to last approx 60K miles.
