Stoney871
If it's just the hangers why do they want to change the exhaust? Go elsewhere for the work, they're twisting you.

(next to rear antiroll bar) You can get stainlless steel cable ties online (normally used for heat wrap) - i used them to hold up my modified exhaust as a "temporary" :) measure - passed the MOT like this, too

FOCA
This one might do the trick - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-hanging-bracket-suitable-for-exhaust-55mm-60mm-/281106772621?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CommercialVehicleParts_SM&hash=item417344f28d#ht_756wt_904 I might try this one myself - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-MK-2-1100-1300-REAR-EXHAUST-HANGING-CLAMP-BRACKET-/121087781259?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c3164e98b#ht_1971wt_932 or this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-EXHAUST-SILENCER-HANGER-STRAP-FITS-45MM-TO-60MM-PIPE-TUBE-BRACKET-NEW-/261103921863?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ccb01aac7#ht_2158wt_932
bt_cav
Nice one.... :) that would do the trick...... just bugs me how expensive these things are....but I supose if trhey are hard to come by you are paying for the availablity as opposed to the value of the product. BOF
You can get stainlless steel cable ties online (normally used for heat wrap) - i used them to hold up my modified exhaust as a "temporary" :) measure - passed the MOT like this, too I've also used them to hold the flexi (mesh) covering in place on an exhaust where the mesh part had come away from the pipe itself; only problem was that they tended to 'walk' back down the pipe and needed 'fiddling' back up the pipe, just before the MoT. They are good things, and definitely work, except for the 'walking' along the pipe problem, which it looks as if you won't have.
welshpete
Euro car parts supply the hangers you are looking for, along with many aftermarket hangers and brackets. I changed mine over to polybush universals, and mine flew through it's last mot with them fitted. They are stiff little buggers to fit, but they also remove a lot of the bounce and shake inherent in the softer rubber hangers
