I am currently driving a Renault Clio 1.5 dCi and I have seen a Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec TDCi that I am considering buying. I have seen the above car for £8488 with 42,000 miles on the clock.
I haven't had a proper look at the car as it was dark at the time but it looks in pretty good condition.
What do people think about the car, price and mileage?
I can post a link to the car if people need me to!
Thanks in advance for you advice.

Seems expensive. Check auto trader and you'll see 2K cheaper and lower mileage. Diesel is worth the extra cost than petrol though, you'll save a few hundred a year on fuel if you do 10K miles a year.

CJWilliams:
The Focus has more power and is a lot bigger.
CheesyPeteza:
I have managed to get the same car but with a lot lower mileage. From 42,000 to 26,850 miles, plus I got a lot knocked off the car. My brother had the sales guy sweating.
I get 50mpg from my Clio and I'm hoping for 45-50mpg from my Focus.
Picking it up on Saturday.. Excited..

if driven like a granny yeah youll see 45-50..
normal every day driving, id expect 43-47.
I use to get 38-42 in mine doing a mix of short journeys and slightly longer motorway stuff.
To be fair if i did a long motorway trip at 50/60, i would see 50mpg

I do a lot of motorway driving going to and from work.
56 mile round trip each day to work so I need a diesel. I don't drive like a granny but I do drive sensibly (can't afford driving convictions in my line of work!)
Realistically I'm getting 48-50mpg.
