Doc5
I've recently picked up a mk2 '54 plate focus with 2.0 petrol engine. The gear lever spring appears to be broken as the lever won't naturally return from the 1st/2nd position to the 3rd/4th position in the middle, as in shifting from 2nd to third. I've read on here that this is a common problem on the 1.6 mk1s and that the spring can be changed easily for this part. http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_gear_lever_spring_f_1142069_c_100.htm Does the mk2 2.0 have a different box and if so is it still possible to replace the spring? Any help much appreciated as I'm new to fords.
Stoney871
Search the web for etis ford and enter your registration or vin number. The site will give you the build data for your car and various other interesting info. That will also tell you which box you have and then you'll be able to know if that spring is suitable.
