Hi everyone, as you can probably see i am new to this so sorry for any wrongly posted stuff!
Just bought a 2002 1.8 mondeo graphite with 108k on the clock, no service history but in very good condition and seemed to be very well looked after.
Since having it the ignition has been very temperamental! i was originally told mondeos did it when very low on petrol but the petrol has no effect atall! sometimes it will start 1st time other times it will turn over for a few seconds and then eventually startup. it is totally random, cold/hot/damp/dry/low on petrol, you name it i have tried it! i have replaced the spark plugs, ht leads and a 2nd hand genuine ford coil pack.
also i have noticed around the 2900 rpm around 65-75mph it will judder quite badly, and as stated above i have fitted the new parts and a new cam sensor for the judder. could the 2 problems be linked atall???
any help would be appreciated VERY much! I am close to pulling my hair out!
thanks again
George
