Battery Replacement - Radio Lock:-(

Afternoon all,

Had a flat battery thismorning, called AA out who popped a new one in. Obviously this has reset the radio, which needs code to unlock it.

Just wana make it clear that im NOT requesting a new code here as i know that is forbidden. What im after is the serial number of my radio unit which i know is located on the unit..but i dont have the special keys in order to remove it.

Someone said that i could get the radio serial number to display on the unit by pressing the 6+1 buttons on the radio. I tried this and it scrolled through several combinations of letters and numbers...apparently the last set of numbers is meant to be the radio serial number. The last set of numbers/letters which displayed on my unit was ACU CFG 820108. But i thought the serial was meant to begin with either an M or V as my focus is a 2005 2.0tdci Titanium (sony radio unit). So is this my serial number?

cheers

Halfords dont sell the keys needed to remove the stereo on my focus (its the Sony 6CD). So i spoke to one of their audio specialists who said they do have the keys but for Halfords use only, not for sale....so i slipped him a fiver and he removed the stereo for me which enabled me to get the serial number and therefore generate a new code online to unlock the unit:-) sorted
