Hi guys after being a seat owner for the past 2 or so odd years and endless problems with my mk1 Leon cupra I decided it was time for a change. I've had a fiesta st before and liked it, my Mrs has a mk2 focus and pleased with it. So decided after a test drive to plump for a mk2 mondeo St tdci, is there anything in particular to look out for when buying? Otherwise Nice car in everyway.  Cheers

The rusty wheelarch comment still applies - does with any Ford.

The two big things you have to watch out for is the injectors failing, and the flywheel. Both will cost you a lot to put right. Other stuff; sticking handbrake, corrosion on heated windscreen wiring (hold a cup of hot water under the centre of it, and switch it on to see if both halves stay clear or if one side fogs up), also the boot opening by itself is a common fault, and most people just disconnect the switch on the boot handle itself. Also don't forget to check the generic stuff such as aircon working properly, aux drive belt wear, make sure all the switches work etc.

That's great thanks I'm on the lookout presently but thinking new year should be able to get a great deal so will keep posted. Cheers again
