Hi got some footwell light and work great. Just a case of putting them straight on as I have a metal. But do they ever turn off as I thought it was once engine was running they were on, turn engine off and they still stay on. Cheers for any help

They're on the same wiring loop as the doors so they only come on when you open a door or unlock the car

You don't! Shouldn't be looking at your feet whilst driving.

The lights are designed to turn off when the door is closed because else it's a distraction.

An easy way is to wire them into the circuit on the sidelights/interior light/ignition/etc.

Probably shouldn't though... like it's been said it's just a distraction.

  • 7 years later...

i have a ford fiesta 2009 titanium the foot well lights will not turn off any ideas Please

The Boot lid open warning also keeps going off when the car is locked and setting the alarm off is this just a faulty lock mechanism.

Many Thanks
