I know maybe some of you are bored of this question but are the cheap ish tuning boxes on eBay any good , do they naff up your car after a while, I know that getting a proper remap is the best thing but don't want to spend to much on one not looking for anything amazing just a little better mpg and make the flat spot almost if not go away.

Appreciate any opinions guys.

all ill say mate is every diesel is different as theres different tolerances when they are made so for example my focus which is petrol but it applies to diesels is rated at 115bhp however when it was dynod it was actually putting out 129.7 bhp now a tuner if i didnt know this may have got 135bhp and said it was a gain of 20bhp it wouldnt have been in fact only 6 bhp diesels are the same a generic tuning box is just that but youre car engine will have different torque and power figures from another so it may make the car worse rather than better its all up to you mate at the end of the day if you are happy with buying it and its what you want go for it but i would personally be wary of these so called tuning boxes
