Colour Coded Front End [Mk2/2.5]

Just curious to if anyone has colour coded the entire front end of their car, bonnet lip, top and lower grills and the fog light surrounds?

If I was any good at photoshop, I'd do a mock up, but I'm pants at it.

I've see Mazda do something similar on the 3 but wondering if it works with a Focus too?

When I was looking for my car (white Zetec S) there was one on autotrader with all the parts painted white and I have to say it looked really crap. I think maybe if it was just the lip and fog surrounds it wouldn't look bad. Just the grills looked stupid. May look better on a different colour but in white it was pretty bad. Think I saved a pic on my laptop. I'll find it later on :)

Fair play.

I'm looking at colour coding the lip and fog surrounds. Just wondering whether anyone had done it.

This was the sort of thing I was thinking about on the Mazda 3, top grill and bonnet lip being colour coded.

Sweet, thats what I'm looking at doing, with possibly doing the air box as well, unless theres a major issue with pulling it and painting it?

Is that a splitter as well as the front ZS lip?

Thanks Andy,

No issues with removing the air box lid but i plan to get it hydro dipped carbon print then slap a mountune badge on the lower right corner of it.

Then a bailey chrome radiator resivour tank to finish it off.

The gloss black splitter is a hand crafted fibre glass piece from tripleRcomposites costs 140pounds directly from TrepleRcomposites and are built to order, very easy to fit and arrive in gloss black with stainless steel fixings.

How hard was it to paint your grills lenny???

I personally cant paint,

I got the whole lot done by body work specialist.

Got engine bay parts, st bonnet lip, grills, fog surrounds and splitter sprayed for 180euro

Splitter was already gloss black, but i wanted it to match the shade on the grills.

Thanks mate,

He called the paint "high gloss taxi black" i asked for RS black but looks the same to me lol

Perhaps ill never be happy, but im changing the upper grill to an ST one before august.

You may also consider an ST upper grill prior to spraying.

Ow and take it easy with power washer on the painted grills atleast for a month

i would keep the black black but as lenny saifd paint it a gloss black rather than the plastic its easy enough to paint them

engine parts are easy to piant also high heat paint is best from hycote you find it on eBay no primer required just use a very fine scouring pad on the plastic to give the paint somewhere to stick dry it and wipe it over with thinners when dry paint ading heat quickens the drying time
