can anyone help ive just had a new gasket fited to my ford fiest dura tec 1.3 8v 52 plate but cant find any timing marks ??

I wouldn't have thought you would need them if you haven't got a distributor. Is there nothing on the crankshaft pully?

it runs off leads so must have a distribitor but has a chain not belt an some of the boy i spoke to said it should of been locked up before hand like you would on a diesel engine ??

It should have a coil pack and leads, so there is no ignition timing adjustment as that is managed via the ECU.

You are probably going to have to find top dead centre by checking where the pistons are through the plug holes. Unless someone else has got a better solution. Hopefully someone has.

There are no marks at all sir...you should have locked it before you take the belt out.
