Not being too mechanically minded I've only just opened the bonnet of my new fiesta (well new to me anyway) checked the oil etc when it came to closing bonnet it would not close fully sorted the problem out with a trusty screwdriver and hey presto it shut but now I seem to have some play in the bonnet anyone else had this happen by any chance?

Sounds like the catch is loose or has moved , check the securing bolts , if it's shut and you have play in it then it's slipped on the bolts , if it has dragged on the bolts you should be able to see the marks and push it back and tighten down.
