Navarro93
I have a similar problem - took the car for an mot today and we had to abort the test because the cooling fan wouldn't kick in, AND we couldn't get the CO levels down enough to pass the emissions test. I've tried disconnecting the temp sensor plug to put it into "limp" mode with the engine running, but the fan still doesn't kick in. The fuses are all okay, and the fan itself works when I connect it straight to 12v. Anyone have any ideas, 'cos it's got to go back for its MOT again tomorrow morning :-(

mashaa
Hi can anyone help. I have 2000 fiesta endura e 1.3. Last week my at started overheating on m25. The car was not loosing water apart from what was been pushed out from waste bottle through the pressure build up. Had to call AA out and found that the fan was not kicking in. To keep me on the road he modified to wiring by bridging to the battery making it run permanently but was unsure what was causing the issue. He did state that the head gasket didn't seem to be a problem and water pump was not making any noises. The problem I now have is where do I start to try and get this fan working again. Any ideas would be gently appreciated. Thanks in advanceHi can anyone help. I have 2000 fiesta endura e 1.3. Last week my at started overheating on m25. TomsFocus
1 hour ago, mashaa said: But when we unplug temperature sensor the s kicking Does the dash guage show the correct temperature? 2000 Fiesta is a bit too early for me. But I wonder if it's only running at full speed, instead of running at slow speed when the engine starts to get warm. If so you should be looking for the fan resistor which may be on the cowling. The alternative, considering the car's age, is just to keep the bridged wiring, but add a switch somewhere on the dashboard so you can turn it on and off manually as required. unofix
2 hours ago, mashaa said: I have 2000 fiesta endura e 1.3. Is this a UK specification RHD Fiesta (your profile gives no location)? Some Fiesta's of that age had one or possibly two relays for the cooling fan in a separate box hidden deep down behind the headlight on the right hand side when looking at the front of the car.
