Interesting. A lot of different shape bulbs come up when you search "12v 2.3w" but the most common seems to be called "G4". I wonder is this the code for the bulb ie. 501, H7 etc. ?

G4 seems to be their code...I figured this as well...I was also thinking about ordering just some of the "blue" bulbs that you can find there, but then I realised it's not gonna be blue - like xenon, but blue - like blue and the whole angel eye ring is gonna be lit up blue...aaand that's just not good :D

Very true one blue light attracts another ;)

So, I just bought them...the LED ones, from my link in previous post. Since there are 4 of these in each circle -> 8 in one headlight -> 16 in both of them, you would need two packs from this particular seller...and you will have 4 spares...

They should arrive in few weeks (from Hong Kong, so delivery takes forever), when they arrive, I'll try to change them in the headlights to see if they fit.

If any one is interested these headlights should hopefully be up for sale sometime this month if all goes well. Along with most of the other parts including the body kit etc

I also emailed them regarding the stock and they said within 10-15 days they'll be back in stock.

What's the body kit you mentioned Brigante ?

Have a mooch through my build thread. Will see the ms kit somewhere as well as the rest of my mods that are potentially for sale.

The ms rear lip and skirts are already off the car ready for spraying/respraying and the front lip is currently still on the car but will should be coming off in near future

Oh right, I understand now. They're coming off your car and you're selling them ? By your previous post I thought you meant that website sold the kit. My mistake.

Yeah sorry dude meant i have a kit that will be up for sale. In my original post where i said the headlights will be up for grabs i said so will the rest of my mods, the kit being some of them.

Make me an offer on the headlights if you want, should be off the car in the next week or 2

So, today I came across these on eBay, they are kinda pricey, but they look like they are gonna fit right into our headlights. Ordered them as well, and since the seller is based in Italy, I hope they can be here before Christmas :)

I will let you guys know what I found out ;)

So far I'm still waiting...shipping times during this holiday season are awful...I ordered a bunch of other items of eBay month ago and I'm still waiting on those too. Fingers crossed they'll arrive this week...

EDIT: So the bulbs arrived yesterday, but since it's so dark so early these days, I'm probably going to fit them over the weekend along with some other stuff...but these bulbs I linked last time look like they will fit perfectly.

Btw, I was pretty shocked by the size of the bulbs when I got the package (envelope), being used to larger bulbs, I wasn't expecting something so small and at first point I thought it was half-empty :D

Sooo, the LEDs arrived On Tuesday or so, so I installed them yesterday since I had a day off and it was great weather here....aaaaaand they are great!

I mean, aside from the fitting process during which I was ready to give up on everything, it really takes a smaller hands to do so, but the final effect is perfect! And with my new OSRAM COOL BLUE HYPER 5000K bulbs I don't think I will even consider doing risky upgrade to HIDs...all together it just look awesome! Ok, enough words, here are some pics: ;)

Just to be clear, these are the bulbs from my second eBay link - the ones that are described as replacement directly for our headlights...

It really looks great...and just to be clear, if someone is thinking about using the angel eyes as a DRLs - don't do that. Not only they are not approved to use as DRLs, but the light output is very poor compared to, let's say my combined fog/DRL lights:

And this is light from the angel eyes rings:

Of course, this is not the weather/light condition when you usually use DRLs, but you can see that there really is a difference.

So how many bulbs are actually needed ?

4 for each angel eye ring, there are 4 rings => 16 bulbs

I also had these FK Angeleye headlights on my previous Focus MK2. I replaced the standard yellow light bulbs with LED Bulbs with SMD LED's on the top and on both sides.

T5LED_zps92ff4716.jpg

To make the light equally spread within the halo ring I removed the top SMD led from the LED Bulbs. Correctly positioned the 2 SMD LED's on the side will light the halo rings perfectly.

The LED's I used are a lot cheaper than the Original lED's that are designed for the DEPO/FK Angeleye headlights.

I used an aftermarket HID Kit but the DEPO/FK are not suitable for HID bulbs. The HID bulbs fit perfectly and the light output is very good but the extra UV light of the HID bulbs will damage the UV coating of the headlights. In my case the UV coating started to peel off after about a year.

Well that's not what i wanted to hear. I've ordered a set last night, was hoping I could use my hids in them. Incidentally, what K rating of hids did you use that caused the UV peeling?

I used a good quality 35 Watt aftermarket HID Kit with 4300K HID bulbs. 4300K has the highest light output and personally I do not like the higher K values. These are too blue in my opinion. Unfortunately many aftermarket headlights do have this problem if HID bulbs are used.
