i was wondering if anyone can help me. i have a 00 fiesta and yesterday by mistake i tried to open the car with my husbands car keys and now when we open any of the doors the hazard lights flash for about two minutes.

 

any ideas how i can get this to stop? would it help if i disconnected the battery ? or disconnected the fuse for the hazard lights?

You can try resetting the security system. This is normally done be locking and unlocking the drivers side door 2-3 times in a row. The hazard lights will be flashing because the car didn't recognise your husbands key's transistor so it's an anti theft deterrent
