Wow I'm touched lol and ull be waiting on ur twenty euro he owes me that and more from near misses ie lamp he nearly went into sideways like an hour ago

If vicki was in power lol aye ......one word ....mushroom.....

One more thing it was vicki that liked focus'sss 11year ago hunni when u was still sucking ur mommas titties !!!!!!

Vicki this is my build thread and its quickly filling up with banter, I understand your new to the forum and its operations but

I carry a QR code on the rear of the car linking people to this thread so please keep banter to the General discussion section of the forum,

And yes I reversed out of a parking spot while turning left,

Forgot about the street lamp to the right of me while swinging left in reverse

And almost smacked the drivers side wing off the street lamp.

Thanks to Vicki for telling me about it before I hit the street lamp, now on to the general discussion section please.

The syringe kit and blue paint arrived today,

I removed the engine cover and I chose the needle with the biggest hole first because I didnt know how viscous the paint would be,

But I later changed for a smaller needle because the paint was flowing like water.

Its not 100% yet,

I got some blue on the ford but I'll clean it off when its dry, using some cotton buds and petrol.

^^looks mint! i like the blue of the "Ford" (looks spot-on) and the contrast of the colours really brings it up ^^

Not everyone can do that to that standard, i think you should do this as a service for other Ford owners / FOC members - (for a fee of course!) - you could buy the parts, mod them and then sell them on - i think there may be a lot of interest in these - (just an idea- you would have to have the time to do it, of course)

Thanks very much Foca

I'd be happy to help anyone if required, I have enough of all colours left over to do another 2-3 covers,

The time sanding down and masking takes around 2 hours then spraying each colour accumulates to another hour,

I cant charge for drying time because it doesn't involve me lol

The cover would need to be colour coded and lacquered before I can start to work on it because I can't spray panels,

My local body shop sprayed the engine cover for me to match the body, I then done the detail.

The local body shop give me good discount on spraying of the body kit etc. So I don't want them to feel I'm taking advantage of there kind offers, by bringing them panels to be sprayed in various ford colours that would be obvious there not for my own use.

The 1.8TDCi drivers are lucky because their engine covers have the blue oval and text coloured already.

Thanks Barry,

I'm very pleased its turned out well,

Its on the kitchen table still, I keep going in to look at it lol

Its great to have it done but now I'm bored, what to do next?

The 5m of 3Amp cable arrived today for me to fish in through the front drivers and passenger door for the puddle lights which are on there way,

But I removed the door panel last Sunday and found that in order to gain access to the mouth of the rubber hose leading in to the foot wells,

I need to drill out rivets and remove the window glass, lock etc.

Going to read the Haynes manual today and consider it heavily lol

No point in taking further action until I have the puddle lights to install while I'm there.

They should arrive later in the week, as long as the weather stays dry we should be all good.

Lenny, as usual your attention to detail is Legen...wait for it...Dary! Awesome job there and I know how much time consuming this whole sanding business is. But the end result is totally worth it.

Btw, the paint that you got, that logo looks very familiar. Was it from Tamiya, the model car company?

Well after 4 hours of back breaking and reaching around,

Following Haynes manual removing the front passenger window, door panel and electrics,

As well as contact with Mr_Spock via PM

I'm proud to say I've finally gotten a positive and negative feed run in to the front passenger door from the foot well

Ready for arrival of the ford logo puddle lights later in the week.

Special thanks to Mr_spock and VickiC, I couldn't have done it as easy without your help,

only down side is that I've lost a small grommet plug from the passenger side wing

But I'll contact breakers through eBay and replace.

Agreed mate,

I must say I'm not surprised at ford and the speaker quality looks a lot less than I was expecting to see,

I hope to be following in the foot steps of Mr_Spock maybe next summer.

:D will be a few months before I have the finances for sound deadening

Then another few months after that again before we get the weather to fit it lol

So in short it will be next April/May before I'll be fitting mate,

Sun...in Ireland..You must be joking me :P

Lenny, it would be good fun to get that done to the cars. I reckon it be a lot nicer to drive without the drone of road noise. Let me know when you get to sound deadening the car.

Slight update:

I've gone in to my local motor factors for the first time ever and purchased some male & female insulated spade connectors 25cents each.

I've gotten the 3Amp cable run in to both drivers and passengers door crimped with female terminals for easy installation and removal of the puddle lights,

Inside panels are off the doors now until the units arrive,

Feels like a rally car all aluminium inside lol

Hi Kieran mate,

I've just saw your post today,

The piper exhaust was a straight fit swap, no cutting of any sort,

The only things I needed was st exhaust mount brackets and rubber hangers all together cost 28 pounds from ford and bolt straight in to place supporting both exhaust pipes,

The exhaust itself didn't come with gasket seals so souhan.is fitted them at no extra cost,The exhaust then bolted straight on to the flange from the flexi down pipe section and was a direct replacement all the way back.

Life time job,

I think piper sell a single exit system too, worth every penny and a life time job.

Thanks very much George mate,

Ive got a few ideas left that have been on the devil shoulder since the buid began in 2010

Neither of them will be complete this year but will be work in progress, I'll purchase the parts this year, but because I don't have a garage I won't start work on it until perhaps febuary next year mainly due to dark evenings approaching and the perticular mods being time consuming,

My next big modification is shaved rear doors, (removal of exterior handles & smoothing) the lines of the car will be smoothed across the body to look like an extended 3 door model,

Plan to fit rubber push button on both sides hidden under the wing mirrors,

The car will lock&unlock via fob as normal and open from the inside all 100% stock,

But press the button under the wing mirror to pop open the rear door on that side of the car ;)

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/46390-shaved-rear-doors-mk25-focus/

Other mod is an amplified shark fin aerial fitted to the rear centre of the roof and colour coded,

Followed by removal of the stock aerial and smoothing of hole.

Apart from those two mods, ill tip away at fitting small things like ford alluminum pedals, handbrake cover etc.

nice job, might have to steel that idea of the back roof light =D

No prob Nicolas thanks for commenting,

I just unpluged the single light unit and plugged in the tripple,

I didnt expect it to be that simple.

Well jealous of them puddle lights Lenny !!!

Looks like to much work for my little brain though :-(

Thanks Oliver mate,

The puddle lights are the best bang for buck mod you can do to your focus,

Less than 30 pounds for all parts required mate,

I can help you via email if you get stuck but don't let all the images put you off fella,

The only obstacle in the mod is time,

It takes time to install them but allowing for tea breaks, if you start on a Saturday morning you would have one side done between 9am and 3pm comfortably following the guide no problems,

Don't let me down pal, :) Ive created the guide for people like me who want to fit the puddle lights to their focus,

I know you want to fit them, if you get stuck PM me well worth fitting all for under 30 quid
