Lenny, I'm not too worried about my own bandwidth. Great idea to put them all together.

Any progress with getting the ST front bumper?

All work on the car is on hold at present due to our third baby arriving in next two months followed by santa in December

But future plans are:

ST front & rear bumper,

Change exhaust tips to suit ST bumper,

Custom fit boot sub install (same as Hassen's saw on previous page at meet)

Touch screen stereo with reverse camera,

Front & rear auto DVR cam system.

Possibly set of Team Hecko wind deflectors,

Work on the above list is expected to commence in March 2015

Highly recommend the custom subwoofer enclosure for the boot. Makes a big difference with having usable space there. Plus it was matched for the woofer itself.

Liking the planned mods. How hard is it to fit the reversing camera on a touchscreen unit? And how much would it cost?

Providing the stereo is compatable with a reverse camera its not that difficult,

If it has a yellow RCA input on the rear thats all you need,

The reverse camera gets its power from the cable feeding the reverse bulb,

Just splice a positive feed from the reverse light feed to the camera,

There are various types of camera,

Some fit to the bumper panel which would be the easiest to install in terms of cables

My personal favorite is one to replace a reg plate light,

Or this one replacing the boot handle: :)

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221298544087?nav=SEARCH

The hardest part will be fishing cable tidy through the existing grommets traveling from reverse light feed up to the roof,

Through the existing rubber pipe and in to the boot panel,

After that its just a single yellow RCA video plug to the rear of the stereo just the same as a RCA cable in the rear of a TV in the home,

Most stereos will automatically switch to the camera view when they sence signal from the video source/RCA input

Much like modern TV's automatically switch to dvd when you insert a disc,

So by splicing the cameras power feed to the reverse light feed the stereo should switch to reverse camera view automatically.

The camera itself ranges from 10-40 euro depending on model,

Some Chinese models bost to have sony camera lenses etc. With high quality night vision etc.

Personally id go for the 40 euro model considering the effort involved to get the feeds in you might aswell make it worth while and fit a good one.

Im also happy the cameras are more/less universal to the stereo's

This means that i can get the ball rolling on the project the next time i have a spare 40 euro,

Purchase camera and some loom from Dave at AutoStar on eBay

Installing the camera properly and seamlessly will surly kill eight hours of boredom on a weekend,

And can then lay dormant in the car until funds allow for the next piece of equipment.

Cheers for the link Lenny. This looks like something I could definitely attempt and that wouldn't break the bank.

Btw, do you have a link for the ELM cable you were talking about? Thought I might just buy one to mess around with the software if it's not too pricey.

No problem,

Here you are sir plug&play already modified ELM327: http://www.spanglefish.com/TunnelratElectronics/

The one on the right is for us as its priced for shipping outside of the UK

I think the site has links to download the most up to date software programs

However here is a link to the forum thread where it can be discussed and dissected in great detail take two days off work qnd read through this thread below:

Thanks man. Appreciate it. I might get it shipped to my Parcel Motel if they allow Northern Ireland shipping to save me a few bob.

Next q: Which software do I use and where do I get it from? :)

I think the site selling them has links to the most recent version of elmConfig

However if you browse through the most recent pages of the guide linked above you should find links to the most recent version of the program written by Civil whom is also a member of the forum.

Not aslong as you save a copy of the settings when you first connect to the car,

Save a copy of the default settings to your computer,

Then if you activate somthing that you dont like you have a backup of the default,

Nobody's bricked a car yet so you should be 100% its very user friendly software now that theres an English option

Your too kind Lenny. Definitely no use for the bluetooth module when you are going aftermarket with the new headunit. Exciting times ahead :)
