Sounds good! I'll make a note of the frequencies (I'll forget them within 10 minutes if not) and get them sorted next time I actually have enough sleep to feel human! Haha :) cheers lenny

After reading this, I am gonna get a multimeter and get that done over the weekend to keep me entertained. It will also make me learn something new. I found the manuals online for my 2 amps and the voltages suggested.

Would a cheap eBay multimeter do the trick? I found the two tracks as uncompressed files online. That should be good enough I think to use for testing.

I bought my multimeter from china for 12 GBP,

If you want to PM me your PMID i can ship a lend of the cd's and multimeter to you tomorrow

Or if you would prefer to have your own there available in Argos fairly cheap aswell,

Thanks a million for the offer Lenny but it's cheap enough in Halfords to buy one with the discount card and keep it for future uses.

As for the test tones, found them online and will just stick them on a usb to use it. Will try to do this over the weekend and report on findings. I reckon it will make a discernable difference.

Quite funny what you were saying about the neighbours and music from your car. I normally blast it during the day and it gets the kids dancing around. It's great fun for all of us

the cases are very cheap and great quality, supposed to be waterproof aswell but I'm not going to test that aspect lol it does well at protecting the cable from harm as its not something that's used much but still essential to have close by,

I have a second case in the post by accident,

I raised a claim with the seller last Tuesday as it hadn't arrived in the expected time frame,

He agreed to send me a second one if i closed the dispute,

I apposed to receive a refund then purchase again as this way i retain my purchasing rights should the second one not arrive i can again raise a claim,

But low and behold it arrived one week late,

So ill have one identical to the images in around five weeks if anyone wants it cost me nothing

Great to hear he is doing well Lenny :)

Thanks mate, was a life changing experience for both of us to be fair,

Your new baby must be arriving pretty soon now?

Surprising how kids are so different. My little one is 1 in 3 weeks. No teeth, not attempting to walk, crawl or bum shuffle lol. I've got the words no and dad before but think they were accidental

My littleun came out with a full head of hair and its like a mop now. Visually she is developed for her age. Just lazy lol. She's in a walker and everything but these things take their time I guess.

It's great to see kids go through the stages. All in their own time.

My son didn't start walking until 18 months. Within a few months then he was a nightmare to catch up with lol

New baby arriving end of May Lenny. By then, I will be taking a break from parenting duties by going being on call at work lol.

Cheers mate,

It is amazing the difference it makes aswell as safety knowing the Ohm's are matching the Speakers.

Can now safely get maximum output from your Speakers without distortion or popping.

Update:

Been somewhat allergic to the car for a while after spending the four days doing the install,

Meaning when i encountered some issues i didn't have the time/patience to solve them at the time,

In the past few weeks the thought of attempting to solve it give me such headache anytime i would consider going at it again,

The problems in question were:

1. TV signal fuzzy and distorted in AUX port to Headunit.

2. Red line on RCA Cable to rear speaker not carrying signal from headunit to amplifier.

3. Sourcing the correct positioning of both glass mount aerials of the DVB Tuner.

I had purchased the replacement Vibe RCA cable in Halfords two weeks ago as part of a 8AWG amplifier install kit as saw on page: of the build,

Link:

But i hadn't fitted it yet,

However;

yesterday evening i went back to the car,

Removed the headunit and replaced the defective RCA cable,

With all four Speakers now functioning i was able to allow the system self calibrate the equaliser without any errors.

The next issue to solve was the fuzzy signal from the DVB Tuner to the headunit,

The initial connection to the headunit was via this Pioneer AUX input cable:

IMG_20150122_134346_zpspoo5ohos.jpg

I've since removed this AUX input because it picked up a lot of electrical noise which was reflected in the form of a fuzzy screen.

I plugged the DVB cable directly in to an AV input on the headunit which resulted in a perfect signal no interference :)

I then proceeded to connect the two amplified glass mount aerials to the DVB Tuner,

Put one temporarily on the passenger side of the dashboard,

And the other on the roof next to the boot spoiler,

Quick scan for channels and it came up with 12 TV stations and DAB Radio channels :)

Also displays 1080P Full HD

Subtitles option:

Here's a video of operation:

https://youtu.be/reTdJA0XOjM

I've gotta order a 32GB USB Memory Key on eBay,

With this plugged in to the DVB tuner in enables the ability to pause and record live broadcasts,

The Tuner is wired to ignition live aswell as direct battery feed, this enables the unit to wake up and record a programme while the car is parked meaning you never miss a thing.

I then went to mount the aerials inside the car but lost all signal,

It seems the tinted windows and the element in the heated windscreen are blocking all signals from passing through,

So I'm now in search for two 25db amplified aerials,

Preferably one that will replace the existing FM radio aerial, look much the same as it but deliver both signals,

I dont want to add another mast aerial as ill begin to look like the black maria as saw here  double aerial and side blue strobe Woop! Woop!

I also took the time to fit the Xtrons CR108HD 10" HD flip down monitor in the rear, and complete the fitting Guide: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/67763-guide-fitting-10-hd-flip-down-roof-monitor-dvd-to-focus-mk2-mk25/?p=459161

Summary now:

Source replacement Amplified DVB aerials.

Thanks Kieran mate,

My new project is doing the house lol

Started with the sons room; new floor, paint, insulated back of radiator ready for the cover to arrive.

The DVB-T unit is an Xtrons FV006

I bought mine from a seller on eBay but Xtrons are having a bank holiday weekend sale with 10% off using Discount Code: MAY10

Link: http://xtrons.co.uk/fv006-dual-antenna-car-dvb-t-freeview-digital-tv-receiver-box.html

Forgot to mention; the tuner box can remain completely hidden,

The kit comes complete with a wired iR Infra-Red pod receiver around the size of a bluetooth mic,

Receives signal from remote control and sends it to the tuner wherever it may be hidden :)

At least something's keeping you busy! Aha

The unit came to £80 with "next day delivery for £8.50 and the discount. The annoying thing is that the product would be backordered meaning it wouldn't be next day at all! Going to wait and see what happens stock wise.. also to see what you think after using it
