Ouch! It could be a 50/50 chance in repairing . Get insurance to repair or replace. That way you only pay excess of around usually £75. Rather then new around £300 +

There is one other way... Call them up and tell them some yobbo just launched a brick at it and it's smashed up... Painful as it is to do, then aid the damage then they can't argue lol

Had AutoGlass out today to inject resin in to the chip,

This is it repaired looks like a fly splatter on windscreen but atleast it won't crack.

AutoGlass will replace heated windscreen for 125 euro cash on top of insurance windscreen protection I'll go for that next time.

That's if you claim on the insurance! I meant smash it up for the fun & fit a new one as another project [emoji14]

I had to have a similar repair done a few years ago now..

I remember I got in it one morning over winter and put the heaters on full and it cracked in the repair.. I had a new window fitted for free the same day..

I think you've done the best thing to be honest,, if it does go then odds are it will be on the repair and you get a free window,, if doesn't and stays good then again your onto a winner

Cheers mate,

I do love Win/Win Situations I've been encountering a few of them lately in different scenarios 👍

Cars a beaut by the way.. You should be very proud of it..

Thanks very much,

It has absorbed every spare penny from past five years it's come a long way all makes it worthwhile when other people appreciate it too.

Hi Lenny,

You sound a knowledgable guy, try this problem I have with my very annoying Focus 2.0 TDCI!

After a run between 2k&3k revs the engine is jerky, not all the time as if I throttle up it goes but is in the background. My local rip off garage has over the last 12 months replaced: Fuel rail, Injectors, Glow plugs, Removed EGR and thorough clean, leak off hoses, Pump to fuel rail hose, Removed DPF and remap (more power but still got the jerks), battery, Alternator, Intercooler hose, Inlet manifold, Throttle body, MAF, Several fuel filters & Camshaft sensor

Well that's all mate, any ideas what is causing this !Removed! jerky drive. All engine mounts are ok all I can see is air bubbles in filter to pump hose????

When it goes jerky it sounds a little like a phut phut noise from engine as if tie missing, COULD this be air building up? But from where?

Regards,

Hokus Focus

nice upgrades to braking system lenny

Cheers mate,

can smell them when exiting the car as still bedding in lol

Although there bedding in at present; there's not a huge difference in stopping performance but they look great the stopping performance may increase over stock as they bed in properly,

I'm expecting to feel an increase as they are EBC GreenStuff pads.

Ford give the car a very detailed check yesterday timing belt is due in 30,000km there's an oil washer leak on oil pump, front passenger lower arm bushing is deteriorated rear lower bushings need replacing two,

Single mass flywheel is starting to squeak on hill starts too mainly result of remapping as it's a weak spot in stock performance anyway.

so I've got alot of bits to work through in the coming months and grateful of the health check report Ford supplied which has highlighted these issues now preventing bigger problems down the road.

That's how dealerships should be Lenny. I'm lucky with mine that they do all of the above, to the point of telling me my interior light was burnt. What dealership you going to out of curiosity?

Mine are good in that way as well. Don't get me wrong dealers tend to charge astronomically, buy they should be reliable and trustworthy. Mine too is just that!

Hi Tony,

Sorry to say; I have no idea what could be causing this,

All symptomatic items have been changed,

Perhaps it's the fuel pump but reluctant myself to suggest further investment unless guaranteed it's the solution.

An ecu remap would change the running characteristics of the engine perhaps try that or speak to a local tuning company they will have alot of diagnostic equipment to hand to monitor the engine perhaps catch the problem on graph and diagnose.

If it was mine I'd try that next mate,

I wouldn't throw in towel at it because one diagnosed it will be almost new considering all parts that have been already replaced.

Need to find where the air is coming from, check all joints in pipes as it will never run right with air in there.

Update Review:

Atomex_Multi-Cleaner-diesel-250x250_zps4Atomex_Total-Flush-250x250_zpskhiykv07.j

I've done 2,000km since the service with Ford,

The Xado MultiClean in fuel and Total Flush in engine oil prior to service made a great difference along with ford replacing the Genuine Fuel Filter during routine service

s-l225_zps8aprktn2.jpg

Engine idle is quieter than before,

Responce feels slightly more positive and driven gently im now getting 26.2km per litre of Diesel 👣👣

The cross drilled & grooved brake discs are now bedded in along with the EBC GreenStuff pads and I must say; they are a huge improvement over the stock items💪

The grooved discs also make a nice "shid did did uh" sound when gradually slowing down on approaching roundabouts it's not loud but if Windows down and radio off can hear it 😊

The K&N57s is also working very well both in terms of economy and performance it's worth the extra spend if possible.

I took the plunge after our conversation about the k&n57s and must say that it really was worth every penny. My mpg has risen and throttle response has gained hugely just as you said Lenny. Really need to remap now and find out if my dpf was deleted by previous owner
