What Can You Fit In Your Ford?

Just had a curiosity around what weird/wonderful/large things people have managed to fit in their cars.

This came up after I took a mattress to the dump in the back of my Fiesta! Safe to say its a tight squeeze to fit a double in a 3 door car (Especially when you're 6ft 6 with the seat almost all the way back)

Believe it or not I travelled back from the other side of Notts with furniture for a summer house in... not much room left for me but it fitted. :)

A double bed - fully laid out flat, in the back of my mk3 Mondeo estate, front seats only slightly forward from normal

2 massive / powerfull PA rigs, one with twin 18" bass bins with lights/ accessories - unstoppable in 6" of snow / unsalted roads on winter tyres

my mk3 estate is about an inch and a half too narrow to fit in 8x4 sheets of timber, which is really frustrating

Speakers and shopping is the only thing that goes in it now. I used to be able to fit 3 hpi baja's 2 tool boxes, 5 litre fuel can and a few other bits n bob. Usually had another RC on the parcel shelf as well lol.

Doing my bathroom up and got 16 2.4m floor boards in my MK7 Fiesta, mind you I had to leave the tailgate open.

Old bath is in the garden, wonder if that will fit...? mmmm if it does I will post a picture.

I recon if you strip out the back seat back and the trim around the rear wheel-arches you will get a few sheets in diagonally with the tailgate open

unfortunately the problem was getting it in the through the doorway, i tried straight, diagonaly, tried to bend them slightly and any other way and the gap was just too that little bit too small, once inside the sheet would have fit without any alterations. well ok, the back seats down and the boards going over my head till they nearly touched the windscreen, which isnt easy when your 6ft 2 trying to duck down while driving  (yes ive had to do that with narrower sheets)

I regularly cram in half a lighting rig for a show, or tonnes of sound equipment... I could bore you with details but I doubt anyone would be interested lol

In my last focus I did get a large amount of sand into it... Tried to balance it as best as possible, who needs lowering springs when you have **cough cough** amounts of sandbags in your car!! Blimey I remember it now, the handling was awful lol

Managed to fit an entire Ikea Flat pack sofa in the back of my old focus. Had to have my drivers seat along way forward and stick the misses in the back but it fitted after ALOT of pushing and pulling and cursing!!

I was pretty impressed!

I know a friend of mine has a mk2 Fiesta 3 door hatchback and he can managed to get loads of PA systems in his car and I was shocked! :o

So far in my focus I've just taken loads of rubbish out from my bed room and two antique wooden chairs out from my dad's garage.

I've not gotten a photo bucket membership yet but in future I'll show you all one day what I might able to fit in....? who know's.
