Got a 2009 1.4 petrol with just under 40k on it.

Belt or chain and when should it be changed?

Thanks for any answers :)

  1. chains dont usually need changed unless theres a fault. Belts should be changed every 10years or 100 000 miles whichever comes first i think

1.4 petrol is a timing belt

Ford says it needs changed at 100,000 miles or 10 years

Personally i'd have it done before this, about 80,000 miles or 8 years
