had my 1.0L zetec petrol for 2 month now and done 1700 miles only averaging 43 mpg ? jst travelled from cumbria to manchester 310 round trip at 47 mpg...traded my ford kuga in for this thinking i would benefit as i was getting 43 mpg in 2.0L diesel....how wrong i was....book says tank range 606 miles? i fill to brim n comes back 380....anyone know what tank capacity is as manual just gives complicated way of calculating average mpg....like the car but mega dissapointed with consumption so far

How much in £££ does it cost to fill up from empty ?

Fiesta petrol tank is 42 litre. Usually roughly £58 to fill once the light comes on

I didn't buy the Ecoboost to save money, was going to upgrade to the 1.4l but the Ecoboost made it a no brainer to go for it instead

Improvement over my old 1.25 by 7-8 mpg and looking at 400-410 miles per tank. Average sitting at 45ish

Wow, was the car loaded up? i have just under 900 miles on 100bhp version and easily getting 46mpg just town and back roads, only been about 20min on a motorway. Computer always reads 380 when full but stays there for loads of miles on mine before starting to count down.

Personally i am saving £30ish per 380miles compared to my old 2.0tdci.

I've got the ecoboost 1.0 125 Titanium, now at around 1500 miles.

I'm routinely getting better than 50mpg on my round trip to work (10 miles each way, mixed urban & motorway).

I can get that trip up to 55mpg, but I have to work at it!

On a leisurely weekend trip of around 400 miles (mostly A-roads and motorway) I achieved over 60mpg average. This was with 2 people in the car and a load of luggage. 500 miles on a tank is definitely achievable.

It's definitely all about how the car is driven. The gear ratios still feel very weird to me but I'm gradually getting more used to them.

I get a feeling that once  you have got the car up to speed, you can often back right off on the throttle and it purrs along almost as if there is no friction.

Higher speeds (e.g. above 70mph) knocks the consumption up quickly though.

I seem to have done way too many miles, I'm on 2,000 already, when most are on less than 1,000 >.<

At the moment I'm averaging 43mpg, seems okay but was hoping for a little more, maybe it'll improve with more milage on the car (600 miles on the clock so far)

I'm getting 33.7 mpg but that's around town with no motorway driving so far and I'm very heavy footed this is the first car I've had with a turbo so I use it more than I should :) I'm going on a 280 mile trip on the weekend will let you know what I get from that

On my ZS tank capacity is 42litres (9gallons) based on my calculations, & 38.4 is the average mpg after 4 fill ups.

I have done around 1500 miles now and am averaging 46 MPG which is about the same as I was getting with my previous Titanium 1.4 Petrol.

Not at all disappointed with MPG as my new Titanium Ecoboost 125 is a lot faster and more fun than the previous car.

You get nothing for nothing as they say.. ..

My dealer and friend said that the engine needs to run a maybe 2-3000 miles before MPG goes up anywhere near 55-56, and that should be about what can get out of it, if you drive economicly only..

Mine has done around 1000miles, and done 47mpg, and thats with keeping it at very low revs all the time, and not been over 80mph, but im also doing this to let it run-in atleast up to 3000miles before im doing any highspeed testing..

The testcar i drove before i bought mine was also doing 30-35mpg, and if u drive like a rented car it will do much less then expected, and that will never change, even with a newer economic engine..

I didn't think you had to 'run in' modern cars?
