Rev Not Holding At 2500Rpm

if anyone can give advice, took my car for mot this week and was told that its not holding revs at 2500 passed mot but was told it needs attention also noticed that the car is losing power when going up hill, do you think they could both be a related problem

sounds like the Throttle sensor needs replacing...
