ffz
Off to the breakers on Saturday if they have the right spec car in, and I want to add reverse sensors and bluetooth to my '08 Zetec. bluetooth I have a Sony 6cd/MP3 head unit arriving this week, so need to know what parts I need for bluetooth. I already have the stereo controls with the voice button. I think I need: BT/VC module Speaker How do I check the wiring loom? Do I need the Interior Light/Map light, and is the surround different? Reverse Sensors What do I need to get this working? Do I need any loom, or do I need to strip the system from the reverse sensors to the module? minnis
Are you going to strip the sensors from the scrap car? It'll be a bit of a nightmare, and aftermarket sensors are cheap enough and easy to fit. Can get a set for £20 online, and they're brand new, not from a scrappy.
ffz
I want to use the original parts where possible. If I find it too difficult, or anything that doesn't work, then I'll revert to aftermarket.
giwrgos_ath
As suggested above, the sensors will probably cost you a fortune compared to the aftermarket ones which cost around £10 pounds and you can even get them colored for £15. You can have a look here and here for prices from breakers. Parking sensors from Xvision are also included in the official Ford catalog, so i would consider those to be genuine as well. You can also find them boxed and new which should include all the cables. Apart from the main unit you will need the buzzer, the sensors, the sensor brackets, the power cable and the loom between the main unit and the buzzer. jeebowhite
with the sensors, you also need the PCM module, loom, relay and setup via the likes of ELM config... You really are looking to get yourself into a potential nightmare situation just for the "original" sensors. I would advise think carefully as you could end up costing yourself a lot more in the long run to get this all installed...
ffz
I'm happy dealing with ELMconfig. I might just scrap the idea of salvaging reverse sensors and just get the Xvisions. The bluetooth I will definitely be getting, so I just need confirmation all I need is the module, the wiring, and the map light with mic? Preee
If you pull your light out and check to see if the mic harness is in place , if it's there it will be taped up behing the light
