totallyconfused
Hi - I hope someone can help me here. I had a flat battery. Charged it and replaced it. Car started. Next day battery was completely flat again. Bought a new battery. Put this in the car. It started fine. Next day - flat as a pancake. I guess I must have a short somewhere that is flattening the battery over night. Does this sound correct? If it what is the best way to locate the short? Wheres the best place to start looking? Many thanks C.

mintalkin
put a volt meter across the battery with the car on a fast tickover and all the accessories switched on (lights, heater ect) it should read around 13.8 volts if not suspect the alternator is shot.
