Oh and forgot to mention also there is a plug behind the passenger side boot carpet that gets wet and unlocks your boot lid randomly too.

you need to remove the plastic shelf trim to get to it!

CURED - Had the same on my 2008 Focus 1.8 Zetec. Speedo/Rev counter went off, all warning lights came on, immobiliser light kept flashing & car would not start. Checked battery terminals, pulled all fuses & replaced, same with relays - made no difference. Noticed that hitting / moving the dash affected some of the lights & car started. Removed instrument panel, took it apart like YouTube videos, took out circuit board and re-soldered all of the connector pins. Put the connector back in & loosely replaced instrument panel. Car started right up all lights went off except the CEL (check engine light) which probably needs the code resetting. A bit fiddly but seems to have done the trick. Hope this helps others.
