rattling noise any ideas anyone ? ?

on my way home from work i was overtaking somone ,when i heard a rattling noise coming from the engine ,its not a constant rattle just rattles when i accelerate or rev the car ,the car has oil , im just hoping its not serious ,any ideas as to what it could be ? thanks for your help in advance .....its a 2001 mk2 mondeo 2ltr Zetec

    it could be a belt tensioner starting to rattle common on mondys, try some lubricant to see if it stops. allthough this would only be a tempory fix.
