Hi, I'm really sorry if i'm posting on the wrong place, its been a while since i've been and not sure where to find things.

Its just a quick question (I hope) I was driving home the other day and I use my blackberry to play my music through my aux lead so it comes through my Speakers in the car, all of a sudden it stopped working, only my passenger side speaker works but not really well and distorted really quite even on volume 30 no other Speakers work, have checked fuse box but they all seem to work, I hope ive not done to much damage  ( sorry about spelling as well) hope someone can help me, Thank you Louise

Sounds like your aux socket has been pulled out of alignment.

I'd assume it's a factory fitted one?

Is your aux socket in the glovebox or centre console?

if it's the one in the glovebox then theres two parts to it, the front plate and the back casing that clips to the front and sandwiches the edge of the mounting point between them but they can be a bit slack.

The back casing has all the contacts for the aux cable so if the front and back move apart a bit then the contacts will misalign with the rings on the aux cable and cause a crossed imput.

If that's your aux type then undo the screws retaining the glovebox in place and with access to the front and back parts of the aux socket wiggle them around until you get a decent input signal then tape them firmly to avoid further movement.

If your aux is the type that's in the centre console then the pliug is a one piece unit so you'd need to check that the cable at the rear is plugged in correctly or if still no joy then it would simply need replacing.

First type-

Second type-

If you need to replace either of them then use the Finis code on the details section of the pictures, I can't guarantee the prices are accurate though but shouldn't be too innacurate.

Also in order to maintain topic integrity I've split this thread off to it's own topic. (Just to avoid confusion) ;)

Also would be worth trying checking your lead. If its the socket In the glove box, shutting the glove box while the lead is plugged in can cause the lead to become intermittent from being bent sharply from the closed lid.

Always worth just checking this as well as checking the lead with another device.
