Crackling Audio Issue (Using Aux)

Hi folks. I'm a newby, so forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere already.

I have a 10 plate Focus Style. I bought it when it was a year old and the aux audio connection has never worked properly without crackling. I have tried different cables, different devices but I still get the same problem. It's far too crackly to listen to. It drives me mad and means I have to use CDs all the time. (Pah! Oudated CDs!)

Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? I hope so! :)

Sounds like the head unit is faulty and has a faulty aux connection

May be a dodgy cable from the aux point to the head unit. Or could be a dodgy head unit itself.

Thank you both. This is probably a stupid question, but is that something somewhere like Halfords would be able to sort out for me?!

A hammer? ;)

The Ford aux sockets are not the best.

Checking the wiring may be worth a go.

Halfords will just sell you a new stereo thats as far as it will go an electrician may be able to fix it but it wouldnt be cheap

I wouldnt trust Halfords to put a tea bag in a cup if you dont know what youre talking about they will rip you off

I think I will just live with it and burn some CDs! Sounds like that's the safest/cheapest option! Thanks again for taking the time to reply. :)
