Electric Break For Caravan Installation

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if a Primus IQ will work off the break switch. The instructions show 12 volts in and tap onto the dead side of the switch so when the pedal is pressed the voltage is read and the unit powers the caravans breaks.

The problem is the voltage at the Mondeo switch is only 7.4 volts and I cannot find any electrical specs on the Primus, have emailed to company but to date no reply.

The other way that may work tho I would like to avoid this due to having to run a wire from rear to front, is tap off the Britex power unit ECU running the towbar plug (this by-passes the problem of the computer indication a fault when connecting the caravan) What do you think

Thanks
