Rubbing Tyres

My focus has been rubbing the inner edge of the front tyres to the point that one of my 1 month old front tyres suddenly deflated yesterday because it was cut right through.

The tyres are hitting the plastic arch liners at a certain point. Im thinking its the springs gone as the ride height seems quite low, but the shocks seem fine as it is still planted at the front with cornering and isnt bouncing about when pushed down on the front of the car.

Would springs alone likely cure this?

What size wheels/tyres have you got on, as a standard fit wheel should be nowhere near rubbing on the inner arch ???

You should be able to clearly see a broken spring with a torch and the handling would be appaling if not youve got to get the suspension checked as somethings seriously wrong

like your spring is gone mate,

If the shock was gone then you would have hydraulic fluid all over your hub,

Now I wouldn't jack it up until your ready to replace it encase the spring shoots off completely,

The shocks don't support the car, they just restrict the speed that the spring bounces,

I'm not sure if mk2 springs are the same but if they are then I've got a set from my 2010 going for sale there diesel too

with the work needed to replace the front springs, and with the cost not to high for the shocks it would make sense to change both.

Standard ford sport wheels and correct tyres.

I agree, but im looking to get rid of this car. It's one of the best driving cars iv'e ever had, but its also the worst car iv'e ever had. Once i fix one thing, something else goes wrong with it. I have spent a fortune on it and im fed up with it. Now i know why Ford parts are cheap, coz your buying them all the time. Most of my other cars iv'e had have been older than this and they haven't had the amount of rust and corrosion this car has, underneath and bodywork, and there is only 105,000 miles on it. Pity as i love driving the thing :(
