Fiesta Smashed - No Note!

Hello. I've had a fiesta for 8 days and someone has driven into it whilst in a car park! Not really a technical issue, BUT, someone reversed into the front of my car and smashed the fog light. The plastic clips in the bezel have broken and the clips inside the bumper have also broken. Just wondering if anyone knows whether that means I'll need a new bumper to fix the fog light back into place? I've been quoted £500 from Ford just for the parts which seems steep? I'm very frustrated having discovered its a civil matter and there's nothing I can do about the idiot who drove into me!

That's terrible luck. What sort of car park was it? Was it monitored by CCTV? If so maybe the owner may be willing to look at footage and see who did it.

Seems about right unfortunately, though it may be repairable at a body shop rather than replacing everything.

Annoyingly it's a private one without CCTV. I've bitten the bullet and got a fog light and surround from eBay for £30. I've been having a look at the guides and am considering having a go myself at removing the headlight and having a go at fitting the fog light. Is it reasonably simple for an absolute novice or should I go through a garage?

I did it! Well. More or less. I'm missing one screw for the fog light. Anyone know where I can get one? It was fiddily but at least it doesn't look as bad as it did. I'd have been useless without the guide on this forum for removing the headlight though.

I have a camera in my car that records all the time, might be worth considering!

If you go to your Dealer they should be able to pull up the specs for the car and at least give you the screw dimensions.

Btw, i buy screws for my car from B&Q.
