Cooling System

3 posts in this topic

Going to be changing HCV later this week (StreetKA). Should I flush system and fit new thermostat at same time? Is thermostat easy to locate?

Hoping this little job is going to solve the hot air only issue.

With the car being 8 years old now, you might as well replace the coolant while you are at it,

There are 2 basic types of coolant organic and non-organic - you must use the correct type/ they cannot be mixed

The thermostat is easy to find/ replace, and is not expensive, again, might as well replace it if you are replacing the heater control valve

Hoping for decent weather tomorrow to be able to crack on with this job. Fingers crossed that I can locate all the right places and pieces and that it solves the problem of not being able to turn off the hot air.

Thank you for your advice.
