I am trying to find out what the insurance will be for my Fiesta Titanium. The form asks "how much is the car worth". I'm paying over £11k for it but what is the figure I put down for insurance purposes?

Any help most appreciated and thank you.

I told them the street value was £1000 more than i paid for mine just so i was safe :)

Im guessing that the higher the value though the higher the insurance... so try not to say its worth £40,000 :)

I went onto the ford site and built my car up from scratch and then put down the full retail price that came up as insurance value, this was about £2500 more than i paid

But in event of car written off, dont you just get book value price anyway? I just gave my insurance people what I paid for it, mmm thinking about it im going to have to phone them to up the insurance value as of next week - or will by adding my modifications automatically adjust the value?

I would call them to be sure. Ok, I will put in the full price paid for the car and hope if anything bad happened to my baby, I would get the full price back.

in the event of a right off you wont get the full price you paid back, unless you have an agreed fee included on the insurance.

if you don't then they insurance man will tell you how much it is worth by looking at your mileage and age. you will deffo not get the full value back though

Not your money back, but if it is under one year old then most insurance companies will replace it with a brand new car

When I got the pay out after writing off my Puma I got more than I insured it for. If the car is under 12 months old when it is written off most insurers replace it with a new one rather than giving you a settlement.

I told my insurance my car was worth up to £12,000.

They put the market value as up to £40,000 anyway.

Got my new insurance certificate through with the mountune upgrade on it and it states on it that insurance value is market value too!!

It can depend on which insurance company you are with too--if you're with a little known one as opposed to a market leader then you might get less...................
