Sorry but I don't have USB, just bluetooth. There is no connection in the rear of the head unit that is all I can tell you I am afraid.

Has anyone attempted taking the panels apart near the Aux port to see if a spare cable is hanging around for a usb port? Reason I ask is because I really want to do this to mine when I get it. (delivery thur)

Hey. Im not certain but I doubt it - As the usb provides a different radio unit 0 and screen for that matter which can interprit the data from a device such as an Ipod, so I doubt there will be a USB connection available - alhtough I could be wrong.

Celicas, yumm Steve, are you a member of any Celica clubs?? I was a member of CCUK, TOC, !Removed! North East, etc with a modded Gen 7 TSport. Thanks for the guide, I picked up my mk7 today and it has bluetooth and voice control but no usb...

ive got a dension unit from my old focus so ill see what I can jimmy together

The USB is actually connected to the voice/bluetooth unit behind the glovebox and not the headunit...

Only thing with removing the screen is....its actually the screen/controller which "controls" the entire system.....and the security aspects of the system are in the screen and not the main CD unit....so removing it would make the entire audio system not work.

This could be a real problem for me as Im planning a full install of Sub, Components, Amp and processor, but looks like im gonna have to keep the headunit!...which I was reallyhoping to retro fit another, some better DIN slot replacements out now.

I'm trying to get a price for the new Sony Headunit; supplied as standard on the titanium, but need the reg plate of a car with it fitted from the factory for ford parts to find it on comp, anyone got it fitted?

Well...I can kinda help there....

I managed to find a second hand unit....





WARNING>>>>>......it isnt a easy fit.......wiring loom is differant and that is basically why you cannot get it retro fit...

Ive spent ALOT of time getting it all working and due to the screen being the security aspect of the system ive ended up keeping the orignal for now untill I get get to a solution....although is actually looks pretty good as it matches the needles...
