Does My Car Need Dpf Additive?

Hi,

My car, a Focus 1.6 TDCI Sport (2006) is due for its 75k service.

Looking at the Etis service schedule, there a couple of things related to the DPF that it recommends. One is replacement of the DPF, which I don't intend to do at the moment, as it costs £1000+

The other is

Refill with EOLYS176 and reset according to TIS service instructions -
1.6/2.0 Duratorq-TDCi with EURO IV Emission and DPF, if applicable (LTS
23 563 4)

I've had conflicting pieces of advice from 2 Ford dealers. One says it doesn't need doing, the other one does. I would like to be sure this is necessary, as the fluid costs at least £50 per litre, and may require 2 litres.

Can anyone clarify this please?

If it has a DPF and is older than 09 (I think - maybe not exactly but definitely older than 58) then it needs the additive. Mines a 58 and needs it. I remember reading that if mine was just a few months newer, it would have the DPF that doesn't need the additive!

Thanks jg321. What are the consequences of not topping this up? Guess it could wreck the the DPF right?
