Escort rear wheel bearings torque setting

7 posts in this topic

hi there,

just done a drumming rear wheel bearing, i looked on the net and found a site saying the torque setting was 290nm = 213.89 ft lbs!!!

anyway, my torque wrench only goes to 230nm. but by the feel of the hub nut, i think even that would be too much.

i've done it up to 130nm, the same amount-ish as the wheel nuts.

what do you guys think??

to make things worse, i can't find my haynes..lol

cheers

jake

Hi,

The best thing to do with this is to tighten it up then turn it back one flat.

Hi,

Your welcome. The escorts seem to go through quite a few wheel bearings for some reason but at least there quite easy to fix lol
