alexp999
Is it a whistle or just the induction noise from the turbo?
marklord83
Its hard to explain I can hear the turbo spooling up and as I floor it as its passing 2000rpm it gives a whistle like its realeasing presure
jeebowhite
Check the pipes and hoses for any cracks or splits, this is a common query that may be worth investigating.
marklord83
Will do it doesn't lose any power and theres no smoke or anything ill have a good look around just incase
jeebowhite
my car does smoke, but doesnt lose power either, I believe I know what the problem is (as to how to fix it, is up for discussion) but whistle is either meant to be there (standard turbo whistle) or its a tube, pipe or hose somewhere that should be better. Silly as it is, check that the air filter box is fully secured. If there is a crack (where, for example a small stone stops it closing entirely) that could also cause the whistle
marklord83
I took airbox off other day to clean the filter lol but its done it since ive had it and kind of like it lol, one thing ive noticed lately is if im say in 5th with my foot to the floor Im sure I can feel a dip in power and then full power but very very slightly, do you know what could cause this? Thanks
jeebowhite
sounds like the normal lag that you tend to get with these fly by wires, otherwise it sounds like the car is either not delivering air, fuel or spark exactly where it should be... marklord83
Its weird but bearly noticeable but once o norice something once im always checking it lol
jeebowhite
lol, keep an eye on it then, but if it is becoming a problem you may need to clean a few things, inlet manifold, MAF sensors, and checking the likes of the fuel filter again.
