2006 Mondeo 2L Diesel Gem Reset

After Halfords had changed the waterpump on my Mondeo, the 'engine management light' came on and despite being back twice, Halfords are unable to clear it. They say there are actually no faults but the 'Generic Electronic Module' (GEM) needs to be reset which can only be done by a Ford garage. Surely there must be other garages in the trade that can do this without paying franchise charges ? I suspect also, that there may be a 'backdoor' way of doing this without specialist equipment. Does anyone out there now about this ?

Halfords gave me this list of fault codes which are currently present which clearly are false as there is no fault with the car:

B1335 Passenger door circuit

B1335 RR door ajar

B1571 LR door ajar

U2644 Unknown fault

U3552 Unknown fault

C3396 Unknown fault

P1198 Pump rotor control under fueling

C3500 Unknown

P0012 Intake camshaft position timing over retarded

How changing the water pump caused all these faults is quite an achievement ! They must have disturbed something in the process.

Can anyone help or do I have to go to Ford ?

Alan

I tend to use the F-Super cable with the Ford Scan software. but it tends to be read only.

Thanks for those comments chaps. Looks like I'll be going to my local Ford garage who have been very polite and helpful in the past but haven't impressed me with their abilities (or charges) !
