Yeh the induction kit I mentioned, and just gonna go for a generic universal bee sting....something like this:-

dont even use the radio in the car anyway so its just for looks....all about USB and/or spotify on the phone via bluetooth!! :)

p.s a mate from last night just said he has a bee sting going spare so £free!!!

Update: In the vein of staying fully legal / Insured, after Ford fixed my DRL's I decided not to put the HID upgrades back in and risk my policy as that was the only mod that has not been declared. So after lots of searching and making a decision I bought 3 set of Phillips Diamond Vision 5000k bulbs, for Dipped, Full and Fogs. So £60 less well off......I am very happy with the results...

Yay for staying legal!!

Fiesta ST Headlights Update :- After removing the HID Xenon upgrade as is was the only item on the car not insured, I replaced the dipped, full and fogs with Phillips Diamond Vision 5000k bulbs which I was happy with as they are the best and whitest halogen bulb upgrade I've come across. However after calling my insurance it turned out the would insure me to upgrade to HID Xenons with no change to the premium!! :D So last night out came all the bulbs and back in went the HID Xenon Upgrades. Trialing the Phillips Diamond Vision H1 5000K bulbs for the full beams though.

Moral of the story : never hurts to ask your insurer the question...the answer may surprise you!! ^_^

They have agreed to cover it without self levelers and washers installed? Surely that makes it an illegal mod which won't be covered then? Just wondering as if I would declare it to mine if they let me

Well interesting, I told the guy that I had added HID's and he went to check with their technical department, he then came back and said "are they xenons?" I said yes, he went to speak to them again, then said they are a non rated modification and they were added to my notes. Confirmed this morning that they had been added, calls are recorded so not my problem now. Do you need auto levellers and washers to make them legal or to pass an MOT though? Wont even have the car by the time its dues for it's first one. Dunno what to do now, they ok'd it and added it to my policy notes, surely that's not my problem now? They are in projector headlights so cant dazzle anyone and never been flashed with them...:-s

As a follow up to your question I would like to link you to this:-

http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?358783-New-MOT-law-regarding-HIDS-April-2012

so as of April 2012 they are legal as long as they are aligned properly (but that would only hinder and MOT test if they wernt, though you could risk a £30 fine is PC plod thinks they are not aligned). As for your levellers and washer jets query, they only need to be operational if your car has them fitted which the fiesta does not. So make sure their aligned then decalare away!!

Awesomeness!! :D Looks like mine are staying in!!

Im not so sure as I know of a few people who have Subaru imprezzas with xenons as standard but they don't have washer jets.

To pass the mot they have had to install washers for them. This is as recent as a couple of weeks ago. In N.I. though,we have to go to a test center instead of a garage.

Still raises questions to the legality of them if an accident were to occur.

Ive just had clarfication from someone in the know, If a car is brand new and the factory is fitting them with HID's they must now fit auto levellers and washer jets AND they must both be fully fuctional to make it legal and pass and MOT. HOWEVER if the car is new/old and does not have them as a factory fit and they are added later they DO NOT require washer jets/auto levellers but the beam pattern must stil be correct...only way to do that is with projector headlights that are correctly aligned. It is that simple!! Same as DRL's new cars that are not fitted with them but you can retro fit to old cars as long as you follow the correct guidelines (the turn on with the engine, not a seperate switch etc). Thats why my insurance were happy for me to add them to my poiicy yesterday as they are legal to retro fit to a vehicle without levellers/washer jets its my responsibility to get them aligned in the projector housings correctly!!
