Ford Focus 2008 1.6 Tdci Zetec Interior Light

Hi All,

I've just bought my first ford wooo! BUT!

I've got a faulty roof light, looks like its been taken apart before and broken (see photos)

The black plastic switch seems broken, it works when I wedge in a screwdriver to move it but that's not really that practical.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what part number the whole unit is and possibly a few pointers how to change it as I've had a look and can see a metal clip but it seems to have some plastic clips to it as well which I don't want to snap.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

Push in a flat blade screwdriver between the part of the light nearest the windscreen and the light surround and lever the handle towards the screen.

The light will pop out and the wires are easy to unplug.

I'll look up some lights on eBay for you later.

This is the one you need-

Also to brighten the light up a touch I recommend one of these, far better spread of illumination.

I strongly recommend you either disconnect the cables to the light or pull the fuse before changing courtesy light bulbs as they seem very keen to blow the fuse.

one last question totally separate to the light, are the wing mirrors on these cars prone to wobble at speed, have taken it apart and tightened the nut and the torx screw. Was considering sticking a bit of silicon on to stop it maybe?

no problem mate, it may have had a knock in the past who knows.

Thanks for the help with the light.

  • 2 weeks later...

this might be a dumb question but my lights seem to be light up ever so lightly all the time (the smd's) wont this drain the battery at all?
