Depends on different things - like the bodyshape - the estate is heavier than the hatch, and the trim level - entry level cars can be a lot lighter than "fully loaded" cars with all the "toys"- even different wheels and having a full-size spare is significant - the "curb wiight" may mean the "dry" curb weight or the "wet" curb weight (with oil, fuel, coolant etc)

So its approx 1229 to 1630kgs across the range - more information would be required (body style/ model/ extras) to get the exact weight of a 1.6 diesel

Foca kerb weight as spelt in british english includes all standard equipment all fluids and a full tank of gas with no passengers or luggage. This minimum is for the 1.6tdci 110 zetec hatchback with all standard kit

Its printed on the label that is on the inside of the drivers door,

Think mine is 1,750kg very heavy for a hatch,

That's not including the body kit, exhaust, egr blank, 18" rims and all the wiring + light units,

But it does exclude the spare wheel, brace and jack, who ever he is and the Dom Dom dah D.P.F

Haha 1750!? Jesus that can't be right? I've got a zetec s 1.6 tdci with sat nav, voice control etc and 18inch alloys so probably weighs quite a bit, but hoping not as much as that!

Partially why I'm going for a Levin lol

Goes in to corners fine but its a heavy elephant to exit with acceleration,

Levin is 1,070kg allumium chassis,

I'll check the weight again later

1750kg! - ouch - what a bloater  (can it really be that heavy?) - no wonder you are planning the Levin

My Mondeo with fitted wheels and all kit, fluids, inc. 1/4 tank of fuel etc is (just) under 1400Kgs (about the same as an Focus ST225 hatch)- and its an estate!

With the MOT now out of the way, i recon another minus 30/ 40kgs and a with a bit more power/ torque too - i woold like to see 200HP and 400Nm

My dads Toyota was being repaired and i remember thinking the rear suspension looked like something off a race car or an aircraft as it was full of holes and looked very light - the suspension was a "work of art" compared to an ordinary car

A lot of people underestimate the importance of (light) weight - your Levin will be the weight of an F1 car lighter than your Focus!

Is your dads Toyota a Levin :) McPherson super strut suspension

Sorry had to ask seemed a funny question IMO

Just been out there guys says 1835kg in silver and black,

Now perhaps that's maximum capacity load but sounds very low to be that,

The levin BZR is 1070kg so I'm looking forward to losing the weight lol

I'll get a picture of this label for you guys

Here's the label,

I've cropped it because the line above it again is my chassis number and I don't share that lol

That must be the gross vehicle weight (1835kgs) - the curb weight is probably about 1350-1400kgs -if so the payload is about 435 - 485kgs max

Years ago my dad had a Toyota Corrolla twin-cam 16v (RWD) - it was a UK model (i think), it was a hatchback - i have vague reclections of it, one of them was when it was in bits and looking at the rear suspension, which looked a bit special

Sounds like it was an AE86 mate

They were 3 door and the original Toyota corolla Levin AE86

Japanese models had the same 20valve black top engine as the later 1990-1995 Levin AE101 most recent 1995-2000 Levin AE111

But the AE86 had the black top with a turbo and super charger fitted,

A 1985 or 1986 Toyota corolla on today's market costs around 12-13000 euro

The AE86 was RWD but later models were only available from japan and were all FWD

Until todays market released the AE86 or GT86 which is rear wheel drive and contains a boxer engine developed by Subaru and Toyota,

Gone are the days of the 4AGE 16 valve silver top BZG and 20valve black top BZR twin can engines with velocity stack throttle body's developed by Yamaha and Toyota redlining at 9,000rpm

That's the engine I'm going to be keeping for domestic and pleasure use in the near future,

A car that future time will never replace,

And you must be like me then lol find memory of the sound the twin-cam Toyota engine made

That is most definitely the max gross weight. It's not far off from the max gross weight i posted either so seems pretty accurate. Gross Vehicle Weight (kg) 1885
